Hi Guys

ive just brought myself a conversion kit and the one thing i am missing is the front drive shaft for the conversion i got a front drive shaft sent with the box off a e34 535, but my current car is a e28 528i

is it best bet to just buy new e28 front drive shaft cause the two i have for the current car which had a auto and neither have a big enough mount to put on the gearbox

any help would be apprecitated

cheers

So you got an E34 gearbox and your car is an E28 ??

If so you will need to get the driveshaft front coupling fitted to your old E28 driveshaft . Measurements will have to be exact, or have I got this all wrong ???

Your explanation is a bit hard to follow

Yea you got it right, the thing being is that the e34 driveshaft is fatter than my old e28 driveshaft, so i dont know if they would be able to put it on my e28 driveshaft.

am i not able to use a e28 front driveshaft or would they have diffrent couplings

cheers

You will need a driveshaft specialist to help you with this, however there might be another solution that someone may be able to shed some light on. As far as I know you will have to get the E34 front coupling fitted to your E28 driveshaft and rebalanced
