Hi Guys

ive being ready up and was just wanting your guys advise on the sort of ecu to look for it will be going on a stock 86 528i m30b28 engine

is it worth getting one on the stock engine before i do any upgrading so that it works ok, or do you guys reakon waiting to all the performance parts are on the engine and doing it

i have being quoted about 3k tunned and installed

so i dont really know what do you guys reakon

i have seen a new ecu that you dont need to have a distributor for cause it has a direct fire system from a add on to the ecu

Kym, depends on budget.

IMHO best would be upgrade to M30b35, same box etc, gives you extra 48hp.

If you don't want to go that far, I'd be looking at a mild cam, 284 maybe, and a reprogrammed chip.

Should give you maybe 25 to 30hp, and if you do some yourself maybe $2000 or thereabouts?

trademe

Could be a steal at that price, almost worth it for that interior alone

they Alpina "look" rims?

i agree thats your best option . just stick the std e34/e32 211hp(will need to swap sump and oil pump over form old engine ) or e28 /e23 /e24 218hp 3.5 engine bolt straight in . use the e28 or e24 wiring loom and ecu .

simple HP upgrade , and then if you want go for headers cam retune ecu etc .

dont bother mucking around with the 2.8L engine.

might be able to help you with a 3.5 kit ecu loom etc , straight bolt and hook up job.
