tcbaurpower 5 Report post Posted May 21, 2008 (edited) Hello, Here is a diagram of the rear brakes on a sedan 1986 euro 6/1986 production, which i guessed at. You could do a quick check yourself on www.realoem.com. Cheers. Edited May 21, 2008 by tcbaurpower

The small cut aways go to the handbrake cable actuator and the larger cut aways go to the adjuster, which must be backed off to allow the rotor to fit. Then you back off the handbrake cables, adjust the handbrake shoes, then the handbrake cables. What are you actually doing ??? replacing the shoes or something else ?? 325_driver 422 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 replacing the rear subframe from one e30 to another, did an engine transplant, and the old drum brake rears were not going to suit, nor was the diff, so did a swap, due to me going by ear, i took the handbrake cable off at the disc instead of feeding it back from the handbrake. (only to find out when i was putting it back together that i could have fed the handbrake cable all the way back by disconnecting a little join near the diff) so putting every thing back together ran into a slight problem forgetting how to assemble a brake shoe. thanks for that info, on the upside i now know my brake shoes inside out, and how to re assemble one happily haha. never the less learnt a bit from this silly little ordeal. Cheers guys !
