Driftit 1959 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Hey people. Was pissed off to find the last owner was nice enough to use Hulk Hogan to tighten up the sump bolt on my M20. It is pretty screwed. So my only option is to re-tap and get a bigger sump bolt. Has anyone done this before? If so what size tap did you use and what thread pitch. And then of course I need to find a sump bolt to fit. bravo 34 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) Are you sure David? The sump plug threads into the sump on an M20. Either way, a helicoil would do the trick as you say. Or just go down to your local Autoparts place, finnd a sump plug slightly larger than the original, then use the tap that matches to tap the thread.
