pjay 8 Report post Posted June 22, 2008 Yup, local garage will dispose of it if you ask nicely. Used to take mine to VTNZ in the old days (like last year) but now they just palmed me off the the garage
bravo 35 Report post Posted June 22, 2008 Recycling stations (ie transfer station/tip) often have oil free oil dump for non-commercial quantities. It gets recylcled. I drop mine off at the marina. There's a recylcling dump there for oil from boats and I'm at the marina more often than I'm at the dump.
CamB 48 Report post Posted June 22, 2008 Hazmobile in Auckland (drop off your stuff 4x per year) if your local garage is rude about it. http://www.hazmobile.govt.nz/ Completely useless website though - I suggest you ring your local council (if you're in Aucks). Yuen 16 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 I ask my local garage too. Ask your local garage to dispose of it...not a petrol station... they only sell lollies & biscuits Glenn, if you don't mind - do garages pay a fixed fee for disposal or is it volume based? Just wondering if the local garages have to pay for our disposal.
