tibbs.james 1 Report post Posted July 8, 2008 If you are replaceing the Manifold to cylinder head gasket its also a good time to check that the surface of the exhaust manifold is level agaisnt a striaght edge, otherwise your new gasket might not last long. I though i was being fussy when i had mine planed just to be sure, but it needed 3 goes at getting it level as it was quite badly out at one end. I also used extreme temp RTV just to make sure it didn't bloody leak again. ( i seem to have exhaust issues on every car i own- bad luck for me maybe )
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted July 8, 2008 I would also replace all the studs & nuts as well...but it sounds like he's trying to do it on the cheap, or maybe I'm wrong. He didnt say what or why he was doing it
tcbaurpower 5 Report post Posted July 8, 2008 Hello, I just brought a whole head gasket set includes everything for head up for $140. If you just need a manifold gaskets it should not be expensive. And if you just need the manifold to exhaust then it only cost me $5. I got all new washers and nuts for both the manifold and air in take and tempostat housing (26 in total) and it cost me $27. No reason to go second hand on these parts. Adam

tcbaurpower 5 Report post Posted July 8, 2008 Gaskets from repco. Nuts and washers from Blacks Fasteners. Take the old gaskets to match from so they dont get it wrong.
