Worth paying a little bit more for an Autosure, Protecta or AA warranty. Much more likely to be around when it comes time to claim on your policy! Registered office is a residential address in Dunedin. The parent company is the same. Looks a tad strange to me. Search WARRANTYDIRECT LIMITED on the Companies Office website... my_e36 43 Report post Posted July 27, 2008 I was with them before and had to make a claim for crank sensor and ICV. I had no trouble with the claim process and they are happy for BMWorkshop to handle the repair work. Customer service was great and my email queries to clarify their policy only take overnight. On Friday spent $2200 on replacing a front bladder in an Audi Allroad front shock absorber. I am now thinking that warranties may be an option on my cars. Couple of questions ... Any company "better" than the rest ? What to look for in fine print? The more expensive the car, the higher the premium ? Cons: have to go through AA inspection which was a waste of $. They couldn't even check whether the radio was working or not. Pro: - AA warranty allows servicing to be done based on manufacturer's requirements. Lots of other companies require you to service the car every 10000kms or 12 months. - Cheaper than Protecta - No excess Note: try State's warranty. They are the cheapest. About $800 for three years. They said they will rebuild my whole engine but then decided the number 3 bearing went out so only decided to pay for no 3 bearing, 3rd piston and so forth. They take ages sometimes to make your claim happen as well. I ended up paying 3.5 grand more when they promised theyd do the full rebuild. Just be weary of them. If you have all documentation and correspondence you should make a claim in the disputes tribunal or complain to the insurance ombudsman (which is free).
