Just thought I would pop this in if anyone is interested

Dick Smith Power House has these on special for $200

Seagate 500GB external hard drives

180 GB was going to cost $150, so I thought...what the hell and brought 2 of these

$123 at PC Online.

At PC online go to the external hard drives page, and then click the drop down list for Show: All Brands and select P.O.S. (Piece's Of sh*t???)

All unknown brand names and generics lol.

I have two of the Seagate 500GB external HDD's (actually bought from Dick Smith). They have been good and reliable to date.

Glenn - to show the change in prices in the last 6 or so months, I paid $379 each for them 6 months ago.

one of the best brands of external harddives, are westen digital. i got given a maxtor at uni and i would never buy anything from that brand.. mines already f**ked out twice in 9months of use

True Grant! I bought a SeagateFreeagent 500GB 5 months ago for ~$320. Very good HDD though.

I might have to get a USB powered one as it is really annoying tranporting the hulking 500GB one that plugs into the wall.
