GLIDN 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) I found this on trademe just before. It appears to be of good condition other than the fugly wheels and gear knob on the car. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=175987628 Oh and its white too, But if you look here are carjam (aka Carfax) http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=m3e30&search=Check The kms of the car is all over the place so not to sure what the true km's of the car really is. Also it states car was first registered in 1991 but listed as a 1990? But i do like it personally. And THIS IS NOT MY CAR OR ANYONE I KNOW. QuickSilver 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) The first two entries that are wrong look to me like human error, but the last one on the most recent wof looks interesting, its very possible that the SI board batteries died and he just installed a whole new cluster with new K's on there, It does have a bimmersport sticker on the bumper so someone on here must own it? Looks to be in decent shape. Edited October 28, 2008 by QuickSilver

Guest Simon* Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Moved this topic here GLIDN for trademe discussions mate - if you ain't selling it, it don't belong in the For sale section This car has been discussed before - can't be bothered looking for thread, but there is some bimmersport history. Somebody knew the car, not sure if current owner is a member.
briancol 3 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 (edited) One thing amused me on the tardme page and I quote "Reluctant Sale!! Making way for my dream car... 1972 Nissan Skyline (kgc10)..." Is this a typo error or what, because according to my memory the Skyline didn't come out till 1982. Edited October 28, 2008 by briancol

Guest Simon* Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Mark, the one you posted is the GC110 shape. Another pic for an awesome car. That's actually a pretty good looking car. Loving the huge lip and rear arches Surely they were Datsuns in those days rather than Nissans?
SIR E30 68 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 I met the guy who owns this a few weekends ago and I had a look at the car. It is nice dont get me wrong, but its rough. Its definitely showing its age! The kit is in bad order and there was rust in the bottom of the A pillar, which he bogged up. The paintwork is faded in places. Interior was good. Under the hood was very green and mossy, like the rest of the little cracks and crevases all over the car. It looks like its been sitting under a tree for the last 6 months. In my opinion its not worth what hes asking... But would definitely be a good track car/fixer upper! In regards to the skyline being found in NZ, it wasnt.. He imported it for a grand total of around 30k! Hope this helps, and doesnt sound to negative!

As for Sir E30, cheers for the heads up, i personally was thinking around the $7500ish mark, mainly due to front bumper and wheels and a few little things, but i'm no rush myself, Heck i have never even sat in a E30 BMW. Lol Yeah i know (you all thinking what the hell is this man doin on this forum). also do you own a the white E30 325 wagon? is it auto or manual? Guest SamSpargo Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Still wished I'd picked this up when it was mint. No sunroof E30 is WIN.
Creaver 55 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Regarding the km's, the guy has stated 250,000, which is about what it genuinely is based on carjam?
GLIDN 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 Regarding the km's, the guy has stated 250,000, which is about what it genuinely is based on carjam? understandably so but the km's are all over the place if you read the carjam it look like it has the potential of being more around 300000km+. A fixer upper of a car for me is no issue what so ever. Heck i have had mk2 jetta/mk3 golf/mk3 jetta(vento)/Mk4 Golf and have worked on all of them on several occasions. I really would like Shwartz black or The Gun metal metallic or white but in Mtech 2 kit. That is the only real reason i'm abit reluctant at look at Farg4n awesome condition looking 318is. Tbh never been in an E30 so i would not even know what to expect or consider.
Cale 36 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 No sunroof E30 is WIN. Plus one! Nicely speced e30, has some really nice bits on it. Could be a great buy to get looking mint again but not worth $10k Might aswell buys Wills mint e30 M325i.

Thanks for this info, yeah TBH i would prefer a MTech 2 too. or a car just like SIR E30's. Any idea of what Will is really after for his car or what it is worth? Also who/where and what cost would an MTech 2 Kit be worth? Aftermarket or BMW new. Also what parts as it looks like the Tech2 Kit has a few more parts then that of the Tech1 kit? tire 10 Report post Posted October 30, 2008 Well i'll guess i would have to call him to talk turkey. thanks again for all the info. What should i be looking out for in an E30? Rear parcel tray - make sure it hasnt been touched Rust - Sunroof, boot (lift up the trims and have a look, particularly down the sides), floor pans (you can lift up the edge of the carpet at the back seat and have a little look), firewall, I'm sure there are more usual spots. Engine ticking - its normal, a lot of e30 engines do it. Steering play - steering can wear out 20 years. Could be the rack (2nd hand replacement $100), or tie rod ends, or universal joint on the steering column. Gearbox - They seem to hold up alright, various bushes can wear out and make shifting sloppy apparently. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. There was a good thread on the zone but cant find it just now.
tire 10 Report post Posted October 30, 2008 Heres the best E30 tip ever: When you go to lift the bonnet, MAKE SURE someone holds it up for you. Otherwise youl bend over and itl fall on your head/back which isnt fun. This is because the bonnet shock will be stuffed. They all are. gl!
