325isimon 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 I have a custom clutch pedal set up on my 95 325i. I am going to remove and install a factory E36 pedal box. Do I need a smaller brake booster to allow for clearance or will the stock booster be ok? Any advice would be much appreciated

westy 614 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 There's no pedal box in an e36. I'm not entirely sure I follow what you're asking, but I know that the brake master cylinder is the same for autos and manuals. The clutch master cylinder is mounted direct to the pedal under the dash and shares the reservoir with the brake. The clutch pedal hangs off the other side of the pedal bracket from the brake pedal. Check out realoem.com for exploded pictures.
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 Its not a box as such. Its an aluminium pedal support bracket and to fit it to an E30 would take some serious modification and fabrication work. It would also need certifying. Why do you want to do this ??

Guest SamSpargo Report post Posted October 30, 2008 I think I get what you're saying: car was originally auto and they didn't change the "pedal box" So you're asking if you can fit a regular clutch pedal and not have to dick around with the brake master and booster?
