the stig 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2008 (edited) Just went into pitstop today and here are my options One: Keep the twin pipes all the way through and get a second hand muffler at end. Option Two: Near the front, make the twin pipes go into one and then at the end put this on a RPS Stainless Twin square tips muffler on In terms of sound and performance, which is better??? Got quoted around $400 including installation for both Cheers Edited November 24, 2008 by the stig
bravo 35 Report post Posted November 21, 2008 Yep if it includes the muffler. Usually $600+ for a basic system from factory headers back. Cheaper for OEM.

bravo 35 Report post Posted November 21, 2008 Depends on brand, and whether that's installed or not, but it's not hard to spend that kind of $ on a rear muffler as pictured, or more.
e30plz 1 Report post Posted November 21, 2008 How much was your exhaust all up graham?
bravo 35 Report post Posted November 22, 2008 Um, bout $600. Was less with mates rates discount, but one of the bends in the pipe near the rear was too low and so by the time we got it sorted ended up a tad over $600. Was quoted $800 for identical system from Al's mufflers, which sounds about right for full retail.
tibbs.james 1 Report post Posted November 22, 2008 This part only if thats what you mean I can see in the picture it is 304 Stainless, which is where most of the cost is going being that its stainless steel. You could go for a Normal Steel twin in out muffler for about $200. On my car i had single 2.25" pipe and single 2.25" muffler done for $180. the pipe replaced 3/4 of the factory setup and had a collector installed. Sounds like OEM, goes like OEM and it saved me about $

westy 614 Report post Posted November 24, 2008 Probably the twin pipe. Not for performance or sound but for ground clearance.
the stig 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2008 Probably the twin pipe. Not for performance or sound but for ground clearance. Good point. Im just wondering if going into a single pipe will make it sound drowny. Like it how it is at the moment, nice and throaty.
