I was reading my monthly statement which lists the pump price and my price and noticed something that concerns me a wee bit. The pump price on 7/11 was $1.6992 a week later it was $1.6593 and so on - what are these extra 0.02c and 0.03c??? Are they charged when paying by eftpos or credit?? if your car takes 50L a time, that's 50x0.0003 = 1.5c extra for the fill - say 1c on a good day, but potentially rounded to 2c. multiply that by 4 times a month = up to 8c a month extra = 96c a year x 1,000,000 motorists (very conservative) and that's the fuel companies ripping us off to the tune of a million dollars a year. bastards.
