jjs 64 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 I've got M3 evo wheels (M double spoke II) on my 328i. Was wondering if there is a quick way (without taking the wheel off) to tell if they are OEM BMW items. They have the M sticker on them, but I figure most of the replicas do too. 3series 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 I believe if they are genuine they are stamped BMW Motorsport around the inner most lip on the centre.
Mark 178 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 You'll have to take one off unfortunately.
Guest SamSpargo Report post Posted December 17, 2008 I believe if they are genuine they are stamped BMW Motorsport around the inner most lip on the centre. That was only up to 95. The 96+ style went to a small ///M badge. This is for the wheel in the centre pictured. The Double spoke 1's also had this writing on them though. martyyn 2 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) The ///m badge should sit in a small recess too. Often the replicas just have it stuck on the flat surface of the rim. Edited December 17, 2008 by Penry
zenetti 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 Our reps have the recess for the M badge. The only real way to tell is to take the wheel off as mentioned earlier.

stylish_division 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 a bit off topic, but are all those wheels off a e36? were they options or just assigned to different models? The m contour is hot!
Mark 178 Report post Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) They were the wheel options for the E36 M3 Evo. Edited December 17, 2008 by gannetboy

They were the wheel options for the E36 M3 Evo.Not really. The M contour only came on the 4 door M3's. The Forged M Double Spoke was on the 3.0L M3's (Pre-facelift). And the M Double Spoke II Was on the 3.2L M3's (Post-facelift). Thats how the standard spec was optioned.
