E46 Stalls if not warmed up

Recommended Posts

e46 318i - need to warm up before driving off, if not it'll just stall and the steering locks! pretty friggin dangerous!

but if you warm it up before driving it off, its all fine.

Had it hooked up to diagnostics a few times and no errors to be found.

Ideas?

Cheers

If it was checked properly it should be able to be diagnosed. If there are no fault codes, its likely to be the air mass sensor. You need to drive it with the scanner hooked up and check live data. Another possibility would be the crankcase ventilator valve or breather hose from the same valve.
