Limited Slip Diffs.

I have 2 LSD's to sell, a 3.46 and a 3.64, both good working condition out of E28's. They will fit E30 cars, you need a medium case E30 diff and just swap the output shafts and the back plate, very easy.

Excuse my ignorance but how would one know if there diff was medium case and what the ratio is?

Medium case come with 325i, 320i usually have small case ones. I would try find pictures but I can't atm. You usually tell by looking at it, because the actual case on a small case diff is smaller and the flanges stick out to the side more.

Ratio is on a metal tag, bolted to one of the bolts on the rear case of the diff. Usually it will have something like 3.64 (then some numbers after it). If it has "S 3.64" it is an LSD.

p.s fitting my clutch pack today, that I got from silver fox, into my 3.64 diff. God damn those bolts on the ring gear are on there tight....

some 320i have medium case .

normally 318i 320i small

m3 and 325i medium.

small has 4 bolts on the side flages .

medium has 6 bolts

and large has 8 bolts.

Yes, if you can find a small case LSD, there are some around but quite rare.

Got my 4.1 LSD back today to fit.

Yeah I couldnt manage to do it with my air ratchet and big compressor, Took it down to BMW and they did it pretty quickly. Pain was getting that speed sensor ring back on it.

It was very very tight to, I can't even spin the input shaft by hand once I reassembled the diff. But she goes alright, Took it for a spin just before. Very nice :P
