Another day another problem

Recommended Posts

^^ Guessing that's what they'll do at shellys... unless someone can post the link to an online site that I can put it through.

364 (met) blue is tasty. If I hit lotto or something I'd consider repainting the whole car that color. Actually anyone repainted their whole car? Be interested to know what $$$ that would be. Assuming it would be fairly costly.

Just slightly off (but still on) the subject, I downloaded a later Haynes manual for the E30, E28, and E34, then compared the torque specs for the lower control arms to the specs in my old paper Haynes manual for the 520i and 525e.

The torque specs in the later (downloaded) manual are nearly twice those in the old paper one!

Could this explain why I've been chewing through control arm bushes???

Sure the specs aren't in a different unit? Lol.

As for the bushes, they might wear out faster if they have been tightened wrong. Such as with no weight on them, as when you let the car on the ground, the weight will constantly be twisting or acting on the bushes, as oppsoed to them being tightened in their natural state?
