bimmer boy 21 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 (edited) RANT okay finally got off my ass to get the car fixed . so i decided to take it to my brothers old work thinking they will give me a good deal or something so i got a transporter to come pick it up and take it there last thursday (which was the day i booked it in for it to get it running and a service and a WOF) -i ring up thurday afternoon bout 5pm asked them what was going on with it they tell me they havent started so it will b first thing friday they will do it but they didnt call when they said they would etc etc -called them yesturday morning to ask if they had started they said no not yet but they got it running saying it was the dizzy cap problem.... hold on it was very much a fuel problem before .. perhaps they changed the fuel filter but didnt tell me any way so they said they will start on it today and tommorow and they said to call wednesday afternoon so i can go pick it up im sure that if u book your car in to get fixed first thing on a day they actaully have to do it that day ... maybe cos my brother used to work there and cos im young they just think they can just not work on it and just work on it when they are not busy or when it suits them i mean i am a paying customer and im not getting any discounts or nothing... these people are usless .. wish i took it to bmworkshop now ... atleast they no that the little light that say 'check' before u turn on your car doesnt mean that u actually hav to check the engine because there is a fault... thats of cors if it stays on once the engine is started hahah o well just my luck end rant ill keep everyone in the loop about it and post more when i get it back p.s i was gunna say 'wow its taken you 5 days to do nothing on my car. why? so if i wanted to book my car in for a warrent how many weeks wold it take you to get it done?" but i want to actually get the car back in one piece alrite im done Edited September 27, 2004 by bimmer boy
Grant 4 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Ryan, you learned a valuable lesson. Take your car to a BMW mechanic who knows BMW's and can quickly and easily diagnose a problem (like BM Workshop or Bavarian Motors). Even if their hourly rate is more, you will end up saving money as they know exactly what to look for, so the actual time taken to fix any problems is less. Also they are more likely to have parts in stock, so are less likely to have to wait for parts to come in. Next time get an answer out of them to begin with when your car will be done and make them stick to it (unless of course for unforseen reasons they are unable to). But yes, normally when you book your car in for a specific day, you expect work to begin on it that same day. Good luck, let us know how you get on. Hopefully it comes back running well, and you can start getting some enjoyment out of it. Cheers
