from time to time the carpet on the drivers side of my car gets really wet!

i dont think its coming up from under ... i pulled it (carpet) out a while ago and dried it, while it was out i sealed the drain plugs with silicon.

any ideas would be cool cos its got me stumped

Sunroof drains, give them a poke with a coathanger.

Perhaps sealing your drains has something to do with this?

When you pulled the carpet up did you check for any signs of rust, particualrly in up the front around the firewall as that's a great place for rust.

Did you actually seal the drain plugs where the rubber stops are??? You shouldn't have done that, IMO.

didnt seal any rubber stops... just the big plugs (about 5 inches wide) that are covered with that thick under seal crap, it looked like they have been pushed up from the car bottoming out.
