730i very under powered . go for th e740i will be just about as quick as your e28 535i

Go for a 740 Iain, you wont be disappointed. Plenty of them around at the moment for not a lot of money.

Oh and it will be a damn site quicker than your 535

How much are youl ooking at spending? We have a blue 740 for sale at the moment, grey leather done just over 100k from memory.

Definitely go for a 40 (or 50 lol).

$10k probably a bit high for a 96 imo.

My own preference is the il's,theres just something about that extra length.

You could be right, but to me, a lot of the lower $$$ ones on TM look a little tired in one way or another.

Just kicking tyres on these at this stage anyway .. don't really need another vehicle at the mo

Just to give a price example albeit a little historical.

About 18mths ago i bought an absolutely immaculate low kms 98 740il off TM for $15k so while I agree with your comment re some on TM the thing I love about TM is if you watch long enough you can always get what you want.

Since then prices are definitely down so I stand by my comment that $10k is too much.

PS the 7 is still in the family & to date has only required contol arm bushes(surprise,surprise) & routine maintainence.
