how to make the 320 faster?

just wondering if anyone can shed some light on how to get performance gains out of my 320 e30

without puttin a 325 in it like everyone else does??

any bit of advice even small is much appreciated as imn new to the bmw world

Depends how much you wanna spend.

If its auto, covert it to manual.

Chip it.

Dont bother doing pod filters etc, its a waste of time.

General maintenance, filters, dizzy cap + rotor etc.

its already factory standard manual? if tht helps...

what kind of chip are we talking and where would i pick one up from??

Strip your car, Take all the seats out the dash anything that is not speed related.. Works for the E30 Racers.

A pod filter will make it sound great giving a placebo speed affect, mine sounded at least half a second to 100kph with a pod.

we get posts like this all the time, unless you got a bit of cash to throw at it you're not going to get bugger all from it, even then playing with the 2.0 is just pointless. A nice set of headers and exhaust is about it, worth maybe 10hp tops.

Why don't you want to put the 2.5 in? you can probably pick one up cheaper than a performance exhaust system.

if your planning a turbo setup,save your money,for now.

live with 100hp and do the convertion properly,later.

talk to the guys that have rebuilt 2L engines for the race series they get resonable results , but costs $$$$$$$$$$1000's

depends on what else you do .

but can go upwards to about 200hp

std 325i is about 173hp .

std 525e is about 125hp but lots of torque (detunned engine with small port head and long narrow inlet manifold),

but fitting a better breathing 2l head and manifold to it should make a get up and go a bit.

oh yeh id acually be realli keen on that

but id proberly need time to get the money as i need other expenses too before i start on any major engine work
