You don't get charged if you push the key fob (or however it works) to unlock the doors etc. What's the story if you want to disconnect the battery to do maintenance? Can you disable the unit to disconnect the batt and not get charged? If the charges are only for commands through the website or text, or whilst the vehicle is armed, then its reasonable, otherwise sounds like a pretty good graft if you ask me.
