I run a forum myself and its no easy task, but because phpbb is so popular theres alot of fixes and changes you can make to combat it & these fixes are released all the time because the bastards usually find a way around it. I'm not too sure on how big the community is for Invisionboard but surely there's a community out there that would specialize on denying registration & access by bots... kiwi535 538 Report post Posted March 24, 2009 i had a part in admin on another board and we got to the stage where we were deleting hundreds of bogus members at a time.We changed the registration to include a couple of questions that required "human" knowledge.Ie what colour is the sea?What is the second word in this sentence? 320guy 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2009 I would not like to see bimmersport to change to phpbb. I run my own board using phpbb3, and it is horrible. I too had to add a human like question to the sign up page, I was getting up to 100 bots signing up a day, after adding that question I have not had one since. There are alot of other people using IPB, and im sure there are alot of addons and mods for it, and there will be a way to add a question to the sign up page. Changing to phpBB would be a major job.
