KNOCK/PING SENSOR M50 2.0 NON-VANOS

I'm just trying to confirm if the M50 2.0 non-vanos engines have a knock/ping sensor or anything that

will do/process engine knocking for the ECU.

no ,only the vanos engines have them .

they have 2 senors bolted to the inlet side of the block.

Sorry Brent. Thats not correct E34 M50 Non Vanos with Siemens DME does have 2 knock sensors

i thought so , but when i looked on the part numbers wern't listed .

checked both vanos and non vanos , vanos engine is listed , non vanos teh part number is missing .

i was pretty sure i had seen them when pulling engines apart .
