Owen Evans crashed trying to break the NZ Land Speed Record on an Open road at over 200mph and survived. But I can not find the footage or any official links for him or the record. Guest Ari Gold Report post Posted March 30, 2009 was a while ago now, was that massive long road down near rotorua that the option speed trials were held on back in 01 (?) He was lucky to survive, lost a couple of fingers, and had some massive internal injuries. His arm is semi paralysed also. He traveled nearly 500m end over end iirc.
