How to get rid of error light?

Recommended Posts

Is there anyway to get rid of the brake pad lining error light i think it is? It keeps flashing.

Let me know.

In regards to the picture its the error to the right of the P error.

1. Replace the Brake Pads? If OEM ones will have the sensor assembly, if not they most likely won't have any.

or

2. If you have replaced the pads, just solder the two ends of the sensor wire together (LHS Front Strut) assuming your car has drums in the rear?

or

3. Take the bulb out of the cluster

Sorted.

You have to buy a new brake pad level sensor thing from bmw. About $30 i think.

These should be replaced when your pads are changed but most non-bmw places never do this.

Its just a wire that plugs in with a small ceramic bit on the end that breaks when the pads get to a certain level i think.

Ahh the dodgy bulb days. Wired my ABS light to my engine light in my GTZ once to pass WOF's. I had completely removed ABS, but hadn't certed it

^^ that was how we fixed engine over rev warning on an old isuzu truck

Was able to get it to 100kph with that "fixed"

(Same truck also had the "brake light out" warning fixed that way too!)
