E36 328i with Jatco trans..

Recommended Posts

The Jatco box is a bit sh*t when cold OK when warm. When its cold the change is erratic, over revs etc. Not sure if its worth fixing.

What I was wondering if an E30 4HP22 trans will work with the M52? Just a thought.

Very much doubt it.

Woof woof - at least put a decent auto in it if you have to saddle it with such a compromise

You probably right..but I had an E30 325i auto that was so good...

Would like to do a manual conversion but the boxes are rare and expensive

Find a ZF auto box and chuck that in if you can't afford to go manual.

You'll never fix a buggered Jatco... believe me I tried and I had a mechanical warranty so wasn't worried about cost. Over $2500 later and it still wasn't right.
