I better introduce myself first Well im 15 living in chch Family are into Italian cars dad only has Italian cars haha we have a lancia delta, monte carlo, Fulvia and a reanult . So for a first car was thinking bmw, just love the look and everything. Finding one not so easy we have already looked at a manual 320i 1990 , but found out insurance is gonna be a bitch since its 2 litre. You could do much better than that for $4k. I would recommend you get a NZ new facelift 318i manual for $4k you should be able to get an 89/90. The 318i is no slower than a 320i and far more economical. As mentioned, don't waste your time with the AA. With an older car I wouldn't bother with a BMW dealer either, they would see very very few E30's these days. When you do find the right car take it to be checked out by someone who knows the cars and works on them frequently. Someone here should be able to recommend a good workshop in Chch.
