BMWTouring 20 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 As is the M40 has no timing marks, does anyone know exactly where the cam and crank are supposed to be positioned correctly?
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 There are 2 special tools to do it properly. A dowel to lock the crank at TDC in the bell housing and a tool that goes over the camshaft to lock it in the correct timing position, firing on No1 cylinder. What are you doing ? have you not got a manual or a copy of TIS ?
BMWTouring 20 Report post Posted May 30, 2009 The Autodata timing belt book makes no sense.. but I'll figure it out, cant be as bad as a T6 Volvo HAHA.
