Creaver 55 Report post Posted June 1, 2009 Swaybar links might be stuffed/loose. Jack car up and check them out. New ones are about $30 each.

Guest FrantiC Report post Posted June 1, 2009 Does it do it when you push on that part of the car, Like go the front right and push the car up and down, does it knock ? Could be a loose locking collar on the strut letting the shock move around in the strut (if e34 struts are anything like e30 struts that is).
hybrid 1044 Report post Posted June 9, 2009 After sway bar links.. Control arm bushes and ball joints. Sway bars can be more a pop sound rather than a knock. Randomly some times the can be tophat and/or nut not tight enough. (dont over tighten) Another is worn tie rod ends. However you will feel this play in the the steering.
