The smart money was on a hung dury, but the Judges definition of 'reasonable doubt' left the door wide open for this result....very interesting.

No suprise.

Took long enough.

Wonder how many $$ he gets compensated now?

In order to get compensation he has to be able to prove he was innocent of the crime, which is a whole new ball park to showing reasonable doubt of committing it.

Hmmm.

Came home and heard his sister gurgling and the rest of the family dead, did a load of washing then called the cops.

Sounds a little odd.

All the evidence pointed to David doing it. Why would you do a load of washing before ringing the cops... Its abit weird...

^^^^But if you listen to what he ACTUALLY said it would be a while before they considered any claim.

+1. I don't think we should have wasted the money after 13 years for a trial that was really going to do no good at all. Even if found guilty, it was most likely only another short stretch for minimum parole all for the cost of how many hard earned taxpayer $$$$?

I am still suspicious though.

hmm, could someone please start a poll regarding what bimmersport thinks of the verdict - I don't know how to :(

I'll be interested in seeing how many people reckon hes guilty or not.

There are 1000 casual polls on facebook currently, 90% say innocent.

Good news eh! A waste of tax payers $ yes but at the end of the day this is his life... His life prob doesnt mean much to many others but Id rather see an innocent man free :P I just know if I was in a prison cell for 13 years and knew very well I was innocent I would be very angry and extremely gutted! But hey how will we really every know?

By the way I thought they concluded that his father murdered the family, washed all the clothes then killed himself? Kinda makes sense. He had time to think about what he had just done, so messed in the head he couldnt live with it so shot himself in the process.

I always thought he was guilty because too many things didn't add up with Robin being the killer.

On a lighter side, I made the pizzas for the after party. Apparently David can't eat cheese.

To be brutally honest i actually could not care less, thats probably really wrong of me. But that's just how i feel, either way it does not effect my life in anyway and whats happened happened regardless if he pays for it or not?

Just my thoughts

Snob, i know

2 people I know were on the Jury

It will interesting to hear their take on the whole thing now that they might be allowed to talk about it with the whole thing being over.

Will have to wait for work next week

Over the last 15 years David Bain's life has been a pawn in a game of "Winners and Losers" with our judicial system.

The average 'bush lawyer' has an opinion based on distorted facts, I hear people say "I think he's guilty / innocent" everyday.

The real guilty party here is the legal system , which has become a game of "winners and losers"

A prosecutor will withhold certain relevant facts or present them out of context to distort the truth, just to 'win' the trial. [ defence lawyers are just as guilty of these practices also.]

Whether David Bain killed his family or not, he should have never been convicted of murder based on the incompetent evidence and distorted bullsh*t from the prosecutor.

A killer isn't the same as a murderer [ a murderer needs to be convicted ]

As the famous 'Chopper Reid' once quoted , "Never let the truth get in the way of a good yarn"

Apparently Joe has got a job lined up for David, as a photographer, specialising in family shots

I heard he was interviewed by John Campbell.

John asked him "Now that you're a free man again David, what's the first thing that you're going to do?"

David replied: "Well John, the food in prison is rubbish, I'm going down to KFC - I could murder a family pack!"

Ba Doom pssssh
