jh15984 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 Hey guys, I've just recently bought E46 M3, and having trouble finding button for retracting the side mirrors... All the electric works, and it's shaped like it can be folded, but there is no button that can make it retract... Does anyone have a clue?? thanks~

All the electric works, and it's shaped like it can be folded, but there is no button that can make it retract... Does anyone have a clue?? thanks~ It probably doesnt have that option. On the drivers door mirror switch, is there a small square button ? If not..its not an option
jh15984 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 Can you install this function seperately?
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 Can you install this function seperately? I'd need to check.. the mirrors you have wont have the parking drive motors. Give me your Vin/ Chassis # and I'll check on Monday
jh15984 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) Are you talking about the parking mirror as, if i put into reverse, the passenger side mirror going down? if so, my mirror looks down when i try to park~ here is my cars vin # 2003 BMW M3 SMG II WBSBL 92050 JR 04852 If i can get it installed, it would be very nice, because parking at my city garage is really very tight and it's pain in the ass..... cheers~ Edited June 13, 2009 by jh15984
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted June 14, 2009 To do it, you will need new mirror bodies (which will need painting) Folding control module, Mirror switch for folding option and a multiplug for the new switch. The vehicle is already wired for this option. To do it would cost approx $3,500 incl Gst. All parts are X Germany

Greg111 13 Report post Posted June 15, 2009 I assumed all E46s had this option, our 330ci cab does. Seems strange they didn't do all of them?
elmarco 56 Report post Posted June 15, 2009 I assumed all E46s had this option, our 330ci cab does. Seems strange they didn't do all of them? No, mine doesn't have the fold in option either. It does have the angle down in reverse option though. I actually thought it was more of a Japanese thing with their exceedingly small parking spots and narrow streets. jh15984 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2009 Holy sh*t~!!! Didn't expect it to cost that much!!! was expecting somewhere around $500 because all i need is switch button for folding... If that's the case, then i'll leave it, but thanks for all your help any how.... I think, hiring a carpark with more space would suit me better LOL~ Thanks heaps for your info~
