Wet seatbelt

Recommended Posts

Got in the car this morning, which had been sitting outside over night, pulled the passenger seat seatbelt all the way out (for the baby seat) and found that most of the seatbelt was wet. Not dripping, but def wet.

Any ideas on cause/fix?

'96 E36 coupe.

Leaking sunroof? Or because it's a coupe, do your windows still seal properly when you shut the door? (The window should automatically go up few millimetres when you shut the door.)

Pretty sure the window seals are ok and it was on an angle, so the water should have run away from this side.

My E46 does this (no other leaks anywhere). The 2 golfs I had before this car also did it, and my wife's Honda does it..... Don't think it's a problem.

Condensation maybe? My VW that park outside have very cold or mildly moist seatbelt in the morning as well.
