Water Pump leaking coolant

Recommended Posts

2 days ago I noticed a large puddle of coolant under the car, so I did a little searching and noticed there is a stream of coolant running from the bottom of the water pump down to the ground.

Could this be a gasket issue or the water pump telling me something? For some time now I can hear a grinding noise coming from drive belts but havnt stuck a stethascope in there to know where it is coming from.

Could this noise be the water pumps bearings?

Water pump was replaced brand new 8 months ago.

Water pump stuffed or gasket issue?

Don't know how different yours would be to mine, I had a similer problem with what started as a strange noise. Then all of a sudden that strange noise turned into a rather very larger sound as the pump bearing gave way and in doing so threw the belts off and destroy all my fan fins and a few other bits and pieces. If you can get old of your fan give a good check by pulling up and or sideays on it and you will soon tell if the bearings are on the way out.

It will be either water pump, hoses or the water cooled alternator if yours has a water cooled alternator. My advice........DONT DRIVE.... till its repaired
