Hopefully it goes to somebody who's going to look after it and restore it back to mint-ness.

That's a quiet hint to BS members.

Will be interesting to see how much it goes for.

Will be mint restored.

I hope the new owner joins bimmersport because it will be such a mean car.

Why would you have a auto Alpina? Why?

It defeats the purpose.

I wouldnt get too excited just yet people.

A rego can be easily changed to say its an Alpina when in fact it isnt and Id want to see more than just a steering wheel to convince me.

There are far too many people in NZ claiming they have an Alpina when they are nothing more than standard cars.

I'd like to see a pic of the build plaque.... according to the Alpina register these cars only came in 5 speed manual.

Regardless of whether it's an Alpina or not, all the decent bits (wheels, cowcatcher front spoiler etc) have been flogged from the car long ago!

I wouldnt trust a build plaque either Mark, just have a look on ebay at how many people sell them !

Seriously guys, it couldnt be easier to copy an Alpina these days, so take nothing less than a signed letter from Sytner to confirm it from the chassis number.

You should also see something stamped on the block, but I cant remember what it is off the top of my head.

I won't be touching it now then.

Probably couldn't afford it anyway <_<

C2.5= not an Alpina engine..... Just a Fl 2.5L with 2.7 ECU, maybe has headers whacked on but doesnt have to.

Sytner managed to eventually tell me that yes they had built mine into an Alpina (they hadnt recorded what model) and that was a 1986- so i'm sure that all it will take is friendly liaison with them for this one.

My car just had BMW/ ALPINA E30_________0266 ( i think that was the number- it became ingrained!!) as i eventually found most Sytner alpinas in that day omitted the model designation on plaque. Although this is a somewhat redundant statement because i'm not sure if C2.5's were give a plaque at all.

New plaques for sale on eBay have different wording of the Alpina company than the ollld plaques did also.

I would be very wary of rust also, I have learn't my lesson with my UK touring. I see it did come over in '94, mind.

At the end of the day. It's a touring. It's currently at $4k on trademe.

Pretty okay deal, even if it isn't alpina.

What's wrong with an Auto?

:(

They're damn good autos at the end of the day... compared to... other... vehicles.

LOL.

Just carjamed it.

I didn't know they made 1.4L engines.

Someone is telling porkies.

I'm a little confused.

It's obviously just passed a WOF...no obvious rust?

It would be interesting for a bs member to go have a nosy and see what its like.

Get some photos of the motor. Inside. Etc. Ask why the miles have been wound back. =D

I can send you a chocolate bar in your air intake pipe from 323e30. :D
