M3 rotor upgrade

Recommended Posts

Can I use M3 front rotors (Part #'s: 34112227737 and 34112227738) with my 328i brake gear ie: calipers, struts etc.

Have googled around for information, but iFail.

If its not a straight bolt on, what work would be required?

Cheers

I'm guessing there are size differences? Do you have any information on the specs of both? This will give you an idea of what's needed.

E.g. Bell height, centrebore, thickness, diameter.

328i

286 x 22mm

M3

315 x 28mm

That's what I found so far

The short answer is, your calipers aren't going to work.

The front knuckles are also different!!

~3mm at the caliper mount, and the 2 lower strut mounts holes depending on if it's a 95 or +96 M3 they are coming from.

If they're off a 3.2lt they wont work. Are they 2 piece?

330 brakes fit.

Ok,

So even bell heights are slightly different. You would almost be better off building your own BBK from RX7 or 300ZX calipers.

About the same work to make it work. Need to find a way to position the calipers.

At a guess, it'd be more expensive but probably easiest to get all M3 bits to retrofit I'm meaning the whole strut lol.

www.bimmerworld.com have complete E36 M3 braking systems to upgrade non-M3 E36 3-Series cars, these are on special and would work wonders when combined with a set of Performance Friction Z-Rated Pads.
