Original Options on 1993 325i How to find out?

Recommended Posts

I have looked on the forums and used all the VIN decoders to find out what options are installed from the factory on my 1993 325i. Are there option codes printed on a sticker on the car somewhere - like Audi does?

Question remains - do all 325i come with a limited slip differential? This is not listed anywhere on the VIN decoders. How do I tell?

there may be a paper in the car ,under the rear seat is common, mine was under the front seat.Take the vin to the dealer, ask nicely for a build sheet.Actually you only need the chassis number which is last 7 numbers of vin

No, its an option for all cars. Only standard on M3 AFAIK.

If it was optioned for your car then it would list it with the other options.

No. Look for the tag on the diff that states the ratio. If it starts with an 'S' it's a LSD.

Or just jack up and spin one wheel. If the other spins the same way celebrate

209 LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL (25%)

that is what you would see on the build sheet

Would that not depend on the type of pre load or type of lsd whether or not the oposite wheel rotates the other way whilst under no load?

Yes but it works on these LSDs.

Super rare option on a E36.
