ben_d 2 Report post Posted August 4, 2009 Hi all, this is my first post on here, so I hope I am posting in the right place. This is on my '95 e34 525i. Last night my windscreen wipers stopped dead in the middle of the windscreen. After a long trip home (had to keep stopping as I couldn't see where I was going) I found that the linkage had popped off the crank on the wiper motor. It looks like the plastic cup that fits on the ball joint has worn away so it doesn't stay on any more, on the drivers side linkage. I made a temporary repair so I have wipers again, but I would like to fix it properly. Are the plastic cups available new or a whole linkage? It doesn't look like the plastic part can be replaced separately? Is this a common problem on e34s? It looks like the sort of thing that is designed to break. On a side note, I decided that I need to fix my 740i, I have 17 cars, and the 525i is the only one that is going and has a WOF at the moment! Thanks for your help, Ben.
