Broken Bonnet Release....

Recommended Posts

So, I couldn't open my bonnet today... turns out the cable has broken (the wee metal peice that sits in the plastic handle has broken off)

Dad reckons we can solder another peice back on,

But i need to remove the whole cable....

Where's the manual release?

thanks.

Behind the passenger side grille. Poke a flathead screwdriver in the hole and push down. Sorry I don't know where to look for a pic but you will get it.

Happened to a BMW my mate bought ages ago. The release had broken like that too, he just used some pliers to pull the cable.

This.

Looks like a hole with a slot in it just below the latch under the bonnet in front of the car.

Put the screwdriver in the slot and twist.

Watch your head too, Cos it pops forward when it releases.
