Guest Simon* Report post Posted August 13, 2009 There has been an influx of new members of late and it seemed timely to remind and reacquaint people with the forum rules, which are stickied at the top of the General Discussion forum. In particular members should note that we don't tolerate racism, or really any discrimination of any sort unless it's Honda owners or the like. Following that, some of you may have noticed that your posts have been edited, and in the occasional case, deleted. That is moderation in action and I'd be surprised if you couldn't figure out why it has happened to you. DON'T bother making it personal, we just don't care and if you just take note and carry on there should be no further issues. There is a team of mods and admin people, and we do talk, and we do back each others' decisions. Instead of being a d*ck to one person, you'll suddenly become a complete cock to 10 or more and mark yourself for further "scrutiny". Bimmersport is a private forum although largely membership is not screened - we leave it up to you guys to fit in or fook off. Some people who obviously don't belong are removed but this is very rare. Being a private forum there is no "ombudsman" to take your case to if you do happen to get banned, and it is never the decision made by an individual but rather by committee. Another point to note is that a particular pet hate of the mod/admin team is spelling, grammar and text speak. We will let spelling go if it's obvious that someone is doing their best but anything that is moronic, in text language or just stupid and hurts the eyes to read will not be tolerated. If in doubt, spellcheck At the end of the day it is you users who make the forum. A lot of quality information, entertainment, projects and showroom stuff gets shared by way of this site and it is frequented by a good number of the BMW race series competitors too. If all this bores you, or you find bebo really exciting then this probably isn't the place for you. Have a nice day

laadeelaa 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) For all the noobies, who put up their first posts, write in text language, and don't get around to reading the forum rules...maybe it could be avoided by having a quick note upon joining, just about how it would be appriciated if text language was avoided in the threads... Just a small idea. P.s Kudos to Simon (or Mod's behind it) for the "get to the point, no bullshh" approach to forum rules again.
