Rebuilt G260

Recommended Posts

I have an unused getrag 260 from a FL E30. It has had a hole put in for the flywheel sensor to suit PFL.

I have a receipt for $1100 from Bavarian Motors.

New Price: $850. Not negotiable.

Would be great to know how it shifts with an extensive rebuild like that. (You can hear from my vids that my 2nd gear sync is dying)

How much were the rebuild parts? (PM me if you like)

I have no idea how it shifts. Haven't used it since rebuild :(

Well, invoice says:

$443.99 for Parts

$585 for Labour

$128.63 GST

The invoice excludes the purchase price of the 'box. And prices are with BMWCC discount...invoices make me sad. I don't even know why I keep them.

How do I tell the differences between PFL and FL 'gbox? I'd like to confirm what 'box I actually have.

All I know is that it fits my '86 m20b25.

they can fit each other, but PFL has two sensor in bellhouseing.because the ECU system is different.PFL use mototronic 1.1,crank sensor in gearbox bellhousing,FL use mototronic 1.3 sysstem.crank sensor position at crank pulley.

So facelift can use either PFL or FL 'boxes and PFL can only use PFL 'boxes right?

Yep unless you convert the pfl car to the newer motronic 1.3 that doesnt use the sensors in the gearbox.

Thats real easy eh <_<

IIRC All seals, all bearings, 2nd gear syncro. The other synchros were fine or they would've been replaced.

Looking for a conversion kit for my E30. But this one is worth more than the car itself. Haha.
