shanegriffith 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2009 I am shoving a 4.4ltr eng from a 95 540i into a 94 730i (3 ltr) (well shoving is a bit over the top as its the same block diff bore). Its all done ...except the 4.4 doesnt have the front crankshaft sensor at the front of the eng housing like the 3ltr, so where on the 4.4 will I find it? thats the last cable I need attached to something lol

Its an E38 and def a 4.4ltr,it was out of a wrecked 95 540i, thats all I know about the car it came out of I cannot use the the 5 series loom as it conflicts with the key code eng id circuit in the 7 series cars, and on a 7 series that aint worth the bother, I have been in contact with AGK racing and they have helped me with heaps, but this stumps me, I was told by them the only way to get it started was to use the org 730i loom and get the ecu rechipped and set for the 4.
