Yeah Pugs are sweet cars, the 406 indeed a very good choice.....

My grandmother owned new 505gti, 309, 406, 307 and now finally has a golf. As much as she loved them obviously, she had 'problems' with every car. Small niggly nana problems though maybe. gauges stopping in the 406, gearbox electronics in the 307 playing up, remote locking issues in the 505(kept a key behind the number plate because of this haha).

But hey- those things are hardly the giant list of replacement parts that my 'lady owner well serviced' Audi has on her records!!

I think you would be hard pressed to find any car that didn't have some sort of problems... Mom's Audi's (3x new A4's) huge problems including 2 gearboxes. Dad's explorer = 3 pages of faults.

It's much of a muchness

I would never buy a subaru!!! They hog through gas are unreliable and when they do break its not cheap

We have a 3.0l Subaru Outback. It has 152,000 miles on it and it has been by far the most reliable car I have ever had. It drives like it is brand new, and has, in the time we have owned it never had an issue, not even a very small one.

I would own another Subaru in an instant, and have a very high respect for them.

Cheers

Grant

If you want a large Euro wagon, check out a Saab 9-5. For under $10k you should be able to get something relatively late model. Try and stay with NZ new and go for the 2.3 Turbo.

I agree. My parents in law have a SAAB 9-5 wagon. It is a great car with a massive amount of room.

The 2.3l light pressure turbo engine is also a great little engine.

Cheers

Grant

We had a CDXI for six months.

They are not bad but they are so boring that they are dangerous, you could actually fall asleep at the wheel after 10 red bulls, ours was so boring I contemplated driving it into things at high speed to see if the 5 star safety rating was valid. I’d see a Maxima and think wow that looks exciting.

Also, they drink a lot of petrol, equal to a five series V8, you get nothing back out of it though.

I would recommend one to someone who doesn’t like cars or driving. They move along effortlessly have lots of kit and are very safe.
