m speck pistons and crankshaft into a 318 is

ohk well ive got a friend of mine flicking off some m spec pistons and crankshaft for cheap.

so i was wondering is there any benefit (performance or other) for me or reason why i should chuck the m spec pistons and crankshaft into my 318is manual e36.

i only ask cause i wouldnt have a clue and thought id ask

What are "M Speck pistons"??

im just pressuming pistons from an m spec model bmw, havnt really asked for any specific details just got asked and thought id find out any info on what may or may not come of it really

There is no such thing as M Spec pistons and crankshafts.... not for the M42 anyway.

Paul I would say it is very likely that your friend's motor and yours in the 318iS may well me different are the parts are not interchangeable.

But we need some more information really to clarify. You probably have the 1900cc M44 chain driven four-cylinder motor in yours. What kind of car have the other parts come out of?

hmmm yea thats what i innitially thought, thought i may have heard wrongly, ill try get details of what it was out off if i can, i pressumed itd just be standard set up etc just in a m sport bimmer, but ill ask more and repost if anything comes to light.
