Docile 64 Report post Posted October 17, 2009 welcome dude.. yeah 97 have a timing chain. dont need to replace it. although may need to adjust it at some point.. on that matter.. where can me gets a timing chain tensioner for my e36? how much do those cost? HELLBM 1557 Report post Posted October 17, 2009 Dealt with M42`s with broken timing chains. Use tensioners from M44`s on them. Much more reliable. M50`s and M52`s don`t seem to have the same problems. M60B30 baby 8 has them breaking alot. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
