Lucan 196 Report post Posted October 30, 2009 I've needed to fix my zip tie held muffler for aggess now since it doesnt fit with the tech2 rear. So i bought an aftermarket muffler, Powerpro Twin tip (think they're sold on TM), was all installed yesterday. What i want to know is, what can be done to reduce the noise?! In-car noise is quite annoying, and i dont like the boy-racer super loud car sort of thing. I appreciate a nice sounding car but i may just be tipping the scale towards "LOOK AT ME" Suggestions? Cheers

Cheers You could get a big resonator put in the middle of the exhaust system somewhere perhaps, but it still won't be as quiet as a stock muffler would enable. That said, I put an xforce muffler on mine yesterday (dual outlet) and its actually pretty quiet, especially compared with the stupid dumpy muffler the car came with
Guest FrantiC Report post Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) Have you got a twin or single pipe exhaust ? I also had a trademe muffler, was freakin loud as. I had the middle section muffler chopped out and a coby put in place (didn't have room to add another so had to chop this one out). That really is all you can do, Swap in a better resonator or add one if you can. p.s with a coby it sounded reeeal nice.
