You would certainly hope they developed the diesels further over the last 15 years... The TD has 115bhp - 222 Nm 164 lb-ft, where the TDS (intercooled) has 143bhp - 260 Nm 192 lb-ft. Hardly rocket ships, but still respectable and surprise a lot of people.. very reliable and extremely cheap to run. I dont know about the standard TD with an autobox though...
