OP6 27 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 After a complete E30 short shifter, which would include the nylon/plastic bearing shells and bushes. Would prefer new.

Matty104 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 SirE30 can supply them , from memory there about $130 with the bush. hes away untill the new year though. I have a trademe shifter in mine and jase (sire30) has the oem z3 short shifter, and after compairing i would go for the oem one. although the shifting is a bit tighter in mine its just not as smooth operating as the oem

HELLBM 1552 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 Go for the OEM as Glen suggests. Far superior to the Trademe ones.

OP6 27 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=262055799 Yeh, I got me one these, but on my car, my gearchange plate has the bearing shell cup (the blue bit on the trademe shifter) welded to it, I checked on my E36 and it's the same. Matty 104 is yours the same as the trademe one? if so how did you fit it? Mine was bought in CHCH and I have marked it removing the blue bit to see if the rest of the trademe shifter would fit into the welded in bearing shell cup, so it is unlikely that the guy would give a refund. Looking at RealOem and the Haynes manual it seems that the cup is a permanent part of the gearchange plate.
