Sudo 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 (edited) Hi all, New here, just signed up as I have recently purchased a BMW. I've always been a Japanese Import lover, but there's something about BMW's that draws me in. I purchased a 1996 318Ti, it's done 42,000km. It's still in Japan, as I only bought it today, so I won't have it for another month or so. Does anyone know if these wheels will fit on my BMW? DTM 099's, 17x7. Hope to have some fun here Edited January 27, 2005 by Sudo

kiwi535 538 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 you need to find out if those wheels have the correct offset. In my (limited) experience beemer seem to have a different offse than mst other cars.....The offset is the specfic measurement of the hub face in relation to the centre line of the wheel width.I am sure someone here will know what you need. The other thing to bear in mind is the overall wheel and tire diameter shuold be the same otherwise your speedo will be out.....If you tell your tire place you want 17 inch wheels they have a chart to tell you the closest you can get to your original tyre wheel combo... Homy.D.Clown 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 offset isnt such a big problem with E36's (compared to some other BMW models) the trouble is usually the center size..just a bit bigger the holdens i think. you can normally get them drilled bigger to fit with no worries. what about these..kinda similar and they'll fit

Carl 3 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 How did this thread get onto rims??? First thing to do when you receive delivery is remove the jap plate surrounds, then you're already on your way to making it look better, go the bimmer :thumb: BTW, check the maintenance threads in regards to E36's, may pay to give the car a thorough look over when you get it paying particular attention to the standard E36 pitfalls - preventative maintenance Cheers

hybrid 1044 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 Does anyone know if these wheels will fit on my BMW? DTM 099's, 17x7. Hope to have some fun here Hey welcome .. RE: the mags your looking at, they should fit it A/ Obviously you need the correct stud pattern and B/ You look to the correct offset for you car (not sure what the offset on a e36 compac is these days ... Because of your short wheel base I wouldn't go stagged as it will adversly effect your handling around corners. 17x7's on 215's :thumb: will look great
Sudo 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 Those white DTM's won't fit on my 318, I just rang Top Town. I was thinking of some BBS RX's or RX2's, need to find out pricing though

Carl 3 Report post Posted January 26, 2005 (edited) Hey, this is a cool site (if not already posted) Check out the different bbs rims on E30's, you get to choose Upgrade Garage EDIT: This tends to suggest which rims fit the E30, ie, offsets Edited January 26, 2005 by ///Carl
martyyn 2 Report post Posted January 27, 2005 Have you guys seen this place ? http://www.kalach.easynet.be/bmw_wheels.htm Nice car Sudo, welcome, I would personally wait till I had the car and then check out some other rims on the web. You can usually find dozens of cars the same as yours with different wheels. I agree with Carl, I like the BBS style on the threes, where they the hockenheim rims ? Stick with something that looks genuine would be my advice. Cheers Martyn
Sudo 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2005 Haha, well, it turns out I have photos of the wrong BMW. To cut a long story short, the guy in Japan and myself got our wires crossed. And sent me photos of two BMWs exactly the same (but different front) and I wasn't sure which was the one I purchased(both red, same wheels, etc) and he said it was the one that I showed you guys, but it's not, it's this one As you can see, both look identical, except for the front, So that's really the one I have. ps, can anyone tell if that's a genuiine M-Technik front bar? aliluya 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2005 BTW ... the first two pictures you posted (front and rear) has both got the Motorsport kit ... and from the pictures of the kit they look like the original ones .. but the MSport generally came from factory with the 5 Spoke wheels ... The last picture is identical to that of the first picture .. !
