Anyone replaced E39 Bordmonitor with standard DIN Stereo

Recommended Posts

As the topic states.

How hard is this to do? Eg remove the monitor from the front, video module, CD changer and tuner from the back then install a standard DIN CD player up front.

I may have found someone willing to give up their monitor but need to leave them with a CD / Stereo.

Cheers

Matt

maybe a new aerial cable and euro aerial adadtor plug as well

rememeber the aerial cable goe sto the back of the car , also the amp is mounted there .

you do have to remove the trims both sides of the stereo unit to get at the hidden screws etc . just takes time.

OK, thanks.

So I'll have to extend the loom and the antenna from the boot to the dashboard and buy the adapters.

Anything else I need to consider?

might be easier to just join up speaker the wires at the amp end , they come down from the head deck to the amp then back off to all the speakers , also the amp has cross overs in them , so you might need to fit some small value bipolar capacitors so as not to send bass sound to the tweeters and midranges etc .

or leave the amp there . just take the tuners and cd stacker etc

call me if you not sure
