nath 134 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 Yo, 5 years ago i installed a basic alarm in a 1990 316i in no time at all, why was it so easy then, and so hard now??!! I have a 1985 318i sedan and have no idea how i knew which wires were lock/ unlock last time. Can anyone tell me which wires these are behind the kick panel in my 318? The rest are simple, but these two have me stumped... Cheers boys Nathan
bravo 35 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 Micro switches for the control are located in both front doors and in the boot. Why not trace/tap into the wires from the driver's door?
jochen 4 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 All switch wiring goes to the ZKE / GM. So connect everything there....

323e30 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2010 Depending on the brand of alarm you may also need an interface or two relays. Some alarms have an opposite locking switch to the bmws setup meaning that it will lock instead of unlocking.
nath 134 Report post Posted February 24, 2010 Nup all sorted, no relays needed Like i said, had done this years and years ago no idea how i figured it out so fast back then!
